Photos from the Buffalo Geological Society Field Trip to Aecon  Quarry in Marmora, Canada on September 19, 2015.  The trip was great because the rain held off  and garnets, epidote, pyrite, quartz chunks were found.

A couple of tips: leave at 11am on Friday so you can to beat the traffic (should be a 4 hr drive). Having left at 1pm – took me to 6pm to get there due to east side of Toronto 401  traffic jam.

Also, consider staying at Limestone B&B at 47 Forsyth St in Marmora -phone 613-472-5449 or email: limestonebb@persona.ca. $63 including tax and breakfast of two eggs, sausages, two pieces of wheat toast, freshly cut fruit, coffee, juice. Awesome – $85 Canadian with exchange rate, $63. And, AC in all rooms, two rooms have private baths/showers, other two rooms share a bath/showers, clean, tasteful, nice owners. Rooms are on the 2nd floor and all the rooms are named about minerals (I stayed in amethyst room – J Barton). And, it is on the same road as the quarry five minutes away.
