Tucson Mineral Show- January 28-February 12, 2017 – Tuscon, Arizona

The Tucson Mineral Show which is one of the largest and best in the US is January 28-February 12, 2017. There are more than 40 sites from giant halls to hotels to sprawling camps of roadside tents.

Showcased here are the best gems, minerals, jewelry, lapidary and publication dealers from across the US. Plus items from private collections and renowned museums worldwide, including the Smithsonian Institution and the Carnegie Museum of Natural History.

The major location is the Tucson Convention Center  which offers free seminars as well and it is February 9-12, 2017 – this it the Tucson  Gem and Mineral Society Show. Thurs-Saturday – 10am to 6pm, Sunday 10am to 5pm. Location – 260 S. Church St.

Fingerlakes Gem, Mineral and Fossil Show – May 7-8, 2016- Canandaigua, NY

The Fingerlakes Gem, Mineral and Fossil Show is May 7 from 10am to 6pm and May 8 from 10am to 4pm. Adults are $5 and kids 12 and under are free.

Held at Canandaigua Civic Center, 250 N. Bllomfield Road, Canandaigua, NY

Buffalo Geology Society Reading Group – March 30, 2016 – Eggertsville, NY

Geology Education Form Reading Group is March 30 at 1pm a the Sweet Home Masonic Hall, 641 Sweet Home Road, Eggertsville. The topic is Meteorites, Shatter Cones and Cone-In- Cone Structures.

Glen LaPlaca Presentation – Dinosaurs in South Dakota – March 16, 2016- Blasdell, NY

Glen LaPlaca, owner of Past & Present Fossil and Rock Shop, will do a presentation on the Dinosaurs in South Dakota on March 16 at 7pm at the Gateway Building Auditorium, 3556 Lake Shore Road in Blasdell/Hamburg. Gem, Mineral and Fossil Show- April 2-3, 2016- Hamburg Fairgrounds, NY

The Buffalo Geological Society Gem Mineral and Fossil Show at the Hamburg Fairgrounds is April 2-3 with the focus on Crinoids. While normally it is in March, the Shrine Circus is coming to town and using the facilities, so it was moved to April this year.

This year there will be a dinosaur and its baby skeletons at the show. Dave Roeder will be there to answer questions.

Demonstrations, mini mine, crystal jewelry, rock crystals, fossils, beads, gold panning, flint knapping, sand in bottle making for kids and something for everyone. Free parking.

Adults are $5 and children 12 and under are free as well as scouts in uniform. A two-day pass is $7.

Held in the Market and Grange Building.

Buffalo Geological Society Speakers – September 4, 2015 to May 6, 2016

The Buffalo Geological Society Meetings are held on the first Friday of the Month at 7:30pm at the Parkside Lutheran Church at Depew and Wallace Streets in Buffalo (near the Buffalo Zoo off Parkside)
